About Us

I'm Mike, the founder of Aquae Terra Mud Bath. 

I started Aquae Terra with the goal to find a way to create some calm for myself in a way that was simple and sustainable. I enjoy taking baths at home to relax but always wanted to try a mud bath. However, I couldn't find a mud bath near me. I've spent many years working in product development and innovation for world-renowned personal care brands, so I decided I might as well create a mud bath product for myself! I started ordering raw material samples and got to work making prototypes in my basement. After trying it myself, and with family and friends, I decided to share my creation with others too. 

The product and brand are inspired by the Ancient Roman bathhouse, with the mud bath being a forgotten tradition used to relax and calm the body and mind. I think this is especially important for men nowadays, where baths and mental health are not commonly talked about. 

I find it interesting that life can go by so fast, and we are always looking forward to what's next. As we go ahead in life, let's not forget the traditions and lessons learned from the past. I hope to reshare the benefits and history of the mud bath once again with the world. In this way I hope to help people find calmness and relaxation.
